Project narrative

On January 20, 2021, the Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg provided anti-epidemic materials to the Johannesburg City Government in South Africa. The materials included 30,000 medical masks, 10,000 testing kits, 15 forehead thermometers, and other epidemic prevention materials. These materials will be used to improve COVID-19 response efforts in Johannesburg. The monetary value of the donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. The Chinese Consulate General in Johannesburg, Tang Zhongdong, attended the ceremony and delivered the materials to representatives of the Johannesburg City Government. The Mayor of Johannesburg expressed his gratitude for the donation to Consulate General Tang over the phone following the ceremony.
