Project narrative

On May 19th, 2020, according to a press release from the Tongan government, the Chinese government donated $250,000 USD to the Tongan Ministry of Health for COVID-19 response. The donation was in the name of the China – Pacific Island Countries Joint COVID-19 Response Fund. The donation was presented by Chinese Ambassador Cao Xiaolin, to Tongan Minister for Health Dr. Amelia Afuha’amango Tu’ipulotu, at Vaiola Hospital in Nukuʻalofa, Tonga.
