Project narrative

On February 26, 2019, Chinese Ambassador to Nicosia, Huang Xingyuan, pledged to donate EUR 10,000 to the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP). The pledge was made during a visit the UN-backed organization's laboratory in the capital Nicosia. On. August 8, 2022, the CMP received a EUR 10,000 donation from the People's Republic of China that brought China's contributions to the organization to EUR 20,000 since 2019, confirming the delivery of the 2019 donation (see Record ID#93640). The funds were to be allocated to the CMP Project on the Exhumation, Identification and Return of Remains of Missing Persons in Cyprus.
