Project narrative

On June 13, 2015, a dragon fountain, which the City of Suzhou had gifted to the City of Victoria, its sister city, was unveiled by Victoria city officials in the Butchart Gardens. The sculpture measures two by three meters and weighs more than 2.7 tonnes, and commemorated the 35th anniversary of the sister-city relationship. The ceremony was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Chinese Consul General Liu Fei.
