Project narrative

On April 28, 2021, Minister of Health of Armenia, Anahit Avanesyan, announced that the Chinese Government would donate 100,000 vaccines, enough to vaccinate 50,000 people. Then, on May 2, 2021, the donation of 100,000 Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines arrived at Yerevan International Airport in the capital of Armenia. China’s Ambassador to Armenia Fan Yong, Armenian Deputy Foreign Minister Adonci, and representatives of the Ministry of Health went to the airport to greet them. On May 7, 2021, the handover ceremony for this donation was held at the Ministry of Health of Armenia. Ambassador Fan Yong and the Minister of Health Avanezian signed the handover certificate on behalf of their respective governments.
