The agreement to set up the Confucius Classroom at Kildare School was signed on November 4, 2009. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Kildare School with a grant.
