The agreement to set up the Confucius Classroom at Londonderry School was signed on November 4, 2009. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Londonderry School with a grant. Experimental Junior High School of Qingdao Economic and Technological Development Zone was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#44130.
