Project narrative

The Confucius Classroom at École La Vérendrye (K-12) was designated as a Confucius Classroom in March 2014. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Centre High Campus with a grant. École La Vérendrye is a francophone school in Lethbridge and a part of Conseil scolaire du Sud de l’Alberta. It became a Confucius Classroom by a special agreement. the school is engaged with the Lethbridge community in offering Chinese cultural and language education. The idea of establishing a Confucius Classroom in École La Vérendrye (K-12) was mentioned in a Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce Meeting on January 29, 2014. A February 5, 2015 report indicated that the Confucius Classroom was established. Linyi No. 39 High School (临沂第三十九中学) was the partner Chinese institution for this Confucius Classroom.
