The agreement to set up the Confucius Classroom at Algonquin College was signed in May 2010. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Algonquin College with a grant. The original Confucius Institute project is tracked under Record ID#93758
