Project narrative

On August 28, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Pretoria, South Africa donated 18,000 medical masks and 120 forehead temperature guns to the Early Care Foundation. The foundation is a non-profit organization that provides early-childhood development support programs for home-based crèches in disadvantaged communities. Tshepo Motsepe, wife of South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, is described as a "patron" of the organization. The donation occurred on the urging of the First Lady of China, Peng Liyuan.
