Full Description

Project narrative

In the spring of 2004, the Chinese Government donated two stone lion sculptures to the construction of the East Chinatown ornamental gate in Toronto. The two lions were meant to symbolically serve as the entranceway to the Chinese Torontonian community. The lions were reported as "in place" by 2008.

Staff comments

1. The exact date of the implementation of the stone lions is unknown. 2. As the last day of spring is June 21, AidData has estimated June 21, 2004 as the commitment date as it is the last possible date for spring 2004.
