Between February 17 and 23, 2017, a syndicate of 18 banks — including the Bank of China (BOC) and China Construction Bank Corporation (CCB) — entered into a $1.5 billion AUD syndicated facility with Australian telecommunications firm Telstra Corporation. The proceeds of this loan were intended for Telstra's general corporate purposes. In addition to BOC and CCB, the following banks contributed to this syndicated facility: Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ), Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, Ltd. (BTMU), Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA, Mizuho Bank, National Australia Bank Limited (NAB), Westpac Banking Corporation, Bank of America Corporation, Bank of Nova Scotia (Scotiabank), Citibank N.A., DBS Bank, HSBC Bank PLC, Royal Bank of Canada (RBS), Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC), Goldman Sachs Group, Inc., and JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A. (Chase Bank). BOC, ANZ, BNP Paribas, BTMU, CBA, Mizuho, NAB, and Westpac served as joint mandated lead arrangers and bookrunners. CCB, Bank of America, Scotiabank, Citibank, DBS, HSBC, RBS, and SMBC served as mandated lead arrangers after joining in syndication.
