The Confucius Classroom at Plympton International College was established on September 18, 2016. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Plympton International College with a grant. The Confucius Classroom was officially unveiled on or around September 18, 2016. Plympton International College was previously known as William Light R-12 (威廉姆·莱特学校). This Confucius Classroom was established when the school was known as William Light R-12 and the Chinese name of this Confucius Classroom was known as威廉姆·莱特学校孔子课堂.
