Project narrative

The BKC Confucius Classroom was established on October 20, 2014. The Confucius Institute Headquarters (Hanban) awarded the Confucius Classroom status in recognition of the school's achievements in Chinese language and culture education, providing Ritsumeikan University with a grant.

1. Ritsumeikan University’s International Food Culture Research Center (国际食文化研究中心) is the collaborating entity with the Confucius Institute at Ritsumeikan, which oversees this Confucius Classroom. The Japanese name for the International Food Culture Research Center was国際食文化研究センター. This research center is now known as the Integrated Food Research Center (食総合研究センター). 2. BKC is an acronym for Ritsumeikan University’s Biwako Kusatsu Campus. The Chinese name of the project is BKC课堂. The Japanese of the project is BKC学堂.
