Project narrative

In 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Zimbabwe provided a USD 17,000 grant for an electrification project in Gombakomba village. This project is part of a larger series of rural electrification projects across Zimbabwe including an electrification project worth USD 90,000 that involved the Zimbabwean company Satewave Technologies installing solar photovoltaic systems with a capacity of 30 kWp each at secondary schools inombakomba and Manzunu in the Manicaland Province of Zimbabwe (See Record ID#93332).

Staff comments

1. Some sources say that this project is a loan, but this is unlikely if the financier is the Chinese Embassy. This issue requires further investigation.
