Project narrative

On April 21, 2020, the China Three Gorges Corporation donated medical supplies to Pakistan National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The donated medical supplies were valued at RMB 10 million with a weight of around 13 tons. These medical supplies included more than 400,000 surgical masks, more than 8,000 sets of protective clothing, thousands of protective masks, medical caps, shoe covers, and more. A handover ceremony on the 21st in Beijing was attended by Pakistani Ambassador Naghmana A. Hashmi, Yao Wen, Deputy Director General of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Lei Mingshan, the Chairman of China Three Gorges Corporation. The supplies arrived in two batched at Islamabad International Airport on April 26 and April 29. Another handover ceremony was held for this donation at the Islamabad International Airport in Pakistan. Yao Jing, China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, the Minister of Energy of Pakistan, the Chairman of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Bureau, and the head of CTG Pakistan attended the ceremony.
