On April 10, 2020, the Chinese Embassy in Oman donated 50 boxes containing 100,000 surgical masks to Oman's Ministry of Health to aid in its fight against COVID-19. The donation was received by the Ministry of Health at the Chinese Embassy in Muscat, Oman.

Staff comments

1. An official source from either side could not be found, but the boxes appear to say "الصداقةعندالشدائد" or "friendship in adversity". 2. What appears to be the same boxes appear in photos of an article published by the Chinese Embassy of a meeting held at the embassy on the same date. 3. A CGTN interview with the ambassador notes that the Embassy donated to Oman's Ministry of Health "early in the year." AidData has estimated the transaction amount for this donation based on price catalogues from the World Health Organization (WHO). Please see the TUFF Methodology for additional details.
