According to the Chinese Embassy in the Maldives, on June 10, 2020, the third batch of medical aid donated by the Chinese government to the Maldivian government arrived at Velana International Airport. The medical aid consisted of personal protective equipment including, medical protective face masks, surgical masks, disposable coveralls and medical goggles to be used to protect against the COVID-19 pandemic. According to a tweet from the Chinese Ambassador, the specific items donated were 5,000 medical protective face masks; 50,000 surgical masks; 5,000 disposable coveralls; and 5,000 medical goggles.
