Project narrative

On April 16, 2020, the Chinese government donated two boxes of medical supplies to Syria. The supplies included 2,016 COVID-19 testing kits and other medical supplies that will be used to improve COVID-19 response efforts in Syria. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation at the Damascus International Airport. China’s Ambassador to Syria, Feng Biao, and various Syrian officials attended the ceremony. This donation was noted by the Chinese Embassy to be the first in a series of promised pandemic supplies donations.
