In October of 2021, the Chinese government provided emergency food aid to Kyrgyzstan. The aid included flour, white sugar and vegetable oil. A handover ceremony was officially held for this donation on November 4, 2021. Du Dewen, China’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, and Boobek Azhikeev, Kyrgyzstan's Minister of Emergency Situations, attended the ceremony and signed the handover certificate.
