Project narrative

On September 20, 2016, the city of Guangzhou donated a Kapok flower statue to the University of Bristol's Botanic Garden. The two-meter high steel flower was was designed by Chinese artists Li Ming, Li Xiongfei and Zhang Haipeng and donated by Mayor of Guangzhou Wen Guohui. The donation was meant to honor the 15th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Guangzhou and Bristol.
