Project narrative

On September 13, 2013, the Calgary Public Library Foundation announced a $1.5 million CAD donation from CNOOC Petroleum North America ULC, formerly known as Nexen Energy ULC. The donation supported the creation of a learning commons in the recently constructed Central Library in Calgary's East Village, as well as an Automated Materials Handling System for the older Central Library, which was relocated to the new Central Library after the facility's closure.
