On March 28, 2020, the 8-person Chinese medical team sent to Pakistan handed over 10 tons of anti-epidemic supplies to Pakistan on behalf of the Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The supplies included 10,000 test kits, 10,000 N95 masks, 100,000 disposable medical masks, 5,000 medical protective clothes, 5 ventilators, 11 defibrillator monitors and 62,000 sets of drugs for treating COVID-19 patients. These supplies will be used to improve COVID-19 response efforts in Pakistan. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover of these supplies was held during the welcome ceremony for the medical expert team at the Islamabad International Airport in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan. China’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Yao Jing, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Director of the Pakistan Health Commission, Major General Akram, and the health advisor to Pakistan’s prime minister attended the ceremony.
