Project narrative

On April 27, 2020, the Chinese Government donated 20,000 test kits, 10,000 KN95 masks, 100,000 surgical masks, 10,000 personal protective equipment (PPE) coveralls, 1,000 protective goggles, and 50,000 surgical gloves to Sri Lanka's Ministry of Health. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. Hu Wei, the Chargé d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy, attended the ceremony and delivered the supplies to Pavithra Wanniarachchi, the Sri Lankan Health Minister. This was the second batch of the Chinese Government's COVID-19 aid to Sri Lanka; the first batch is captured by linked Record ID#95172 and the third batch is captured by linked Record ID#95526.
