On August 20, 2020, Li Jiming, the Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh, provided 14,280 surgical face masks to the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, to aid in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. The donation was said to have been provided by the Yunnan Province. The monetary value of the donation is unknown.
