Project narrative

On July 8, 2021, Zijin Mining Group Ltd. signed an agreement with the Mayor of Bor, Serbia to provide a EUR 1 million (USD 1.19 million) grant for the construction of the water supply system to the nearby village of Metovnica. The system was expected to be completed in November 2021 and to serve 1,000 people once finished. As of September 2022, however, the connection of 400 households to the water supply system was reportedly still in progress. Zijin Mining signed an additional agreement in September 2022 to cover the costs up to 25 cubic meters of water to these 400 households for five years (captured via Record ID#97652)
