Project narrative

On August 18, 2020, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) donated $100,000 to the Pakistani Ministry of National Food Security and Research. The donation goes towards helping fight the desert locust infestation in Pakistan. The donation was received by Federal Minister Syed Fakhar Imam in ceremony in Islamabad that was also attended by Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing. CNPC representatives expressed that they were concerned about the locusts' impact on agriculture and larger food security in Pakistan. This donation is part of a series of efforts made by the Chinese government to help fight a severe locust infestation that affected Pakistan in 2020. See projects #95445 and #95634 for more
