Project narrative

In 2020, the Chinese Government provided an RMB 73 million (TOP $26 million) grant to the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga for the Heavy Machinery Equipment Project. The purpose of the project was to support the Government of the Kingdom of Tonga’s road construction efforts by providing 119 pieces of heavy machinery, including rollers, loaders, excavators, bulldozers, tractors, and trucks. The equipment was officially handed over to the local authorities on February 11, 2022.
