Project narrative

In 2020, the Chinese Government provided an 10 million grant to the Government of Tonga for the Mala'ekula Royal Tomb Upgrade Project. Then, in June 2022, the two government signed an 'Agreement for the Peripheral Area of Mala'ekula Royal Tomb Improvement Project’. A groundbreaking ceremony was held on February 28, 2024.
