Project narrative

On June 29, 2021, the Chinese Government delivered 20,000 donated doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. The vaccines were transported to Antigua and Barbuda from Beijing by the Venezuelan Government. Funding for the vaccine delivery was also partially provided by the Bank of ALBA through their humanitarian fund. The vaccines arrived at Saint John's airport, where a handover ceremony was held. Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda, and Chargé d'affaires ad interim of the Chinese Embassy, Wang Erdong, attended the ceremony.
