Description

In 2021 and 2022, the Chinese Government donated approximately 5.565 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Tanzania. The Chinese Government delivered 3 million donated doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Tanzania on July 14, 2021. Two weeks later, on July 31, 2021, the Chinese Government delivered a batch of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine doses and syringes to Tanzania’s Zanzibar Revolutionary Government. The number of vaccine doses and syringes that were donated is unknown. Zanzibar Trade and Industrial Development Minister Omar Shaban and Chinese Consul General in Zanzibar Zhang Zhisheng went to the airport to greet and attend the handover ceremony. The Chinese Government delivered an additional 1,065,500 donated Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Government of Tanzania on October 8, 2021.
