Description

On March 29, 2020, the Chinese National Health Commission in Nanjing, China, sent a medical team to Venezuela to provide COVID-19 control assistance. The medical team, organized by the National Health Commission, consisted of hospital workers and medical professionals from the Provincial Disease Control and Prevention Center in Jiangsu, China. The members specialized in respiratory aid and critical care, infectious disease control, laboratory testing, nursing and traditional Chinese medicine. While in Venezuela, the medical team provided general COVID-19 prevention assistance. They also visited local medical institutions, hospitals, and communities to provide anti-epidemic training for local medical staff. The medical team returned to Nanjing on April 13, 2020.
