Project narrative

In 2021, the Chinese Government donated approximately 750,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Iraq. The Chinese Government delivered 50,000 donated doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Iraq on March 2, 2021. Then, on April 11, 2021, the Chinese Government delivered 200,000 donated doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines (into batches) to the Government of Iraq. Chinese Ambassador to Iraq Zhang Tao and representatives from the Iraqi Ministry of Public Health attended the handover ceremony at the airport. The Chinese Government delivered an additional 500,000 donated Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Government of Iraq on August 12, 2021. Officials from the Chinese Embassy and representatives from the Iraqi Ministry of Public Health attended the handover ceremony at the airport. Then, on October 14, 2021, the Chinese Government donated another batch of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines (including an unknown number of doses) to the Government of Iraq. Officials from the Chinese Embassy and representatives from Iraqi Ministry of Public Health attended the handover ceremony at Baghdad Airport.
