Description
On December 13, 2021, the Chinese Government delivered an additional 1 million donated Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine doses to the Government of Mozambique. A handover ceremony was held in Maputo. The Chinese Ambassador to Mozambique, Wang Hejun, handed over the vaccines to Mozambican Health Minister, Armindo Tiago. At the ceremony, Ambassador Wang announced that the 1 million doses were part of the larger 1 billion pledged by Xi Jinping at the 8th Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. In 2021, the Chinese Government donated approximately 1.46 million doses of Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Mozambique. A February donation of 200,000 doses is captured by project #95808. A People's Liberation Army donation of vaccines from June is captured in project #95811. An August donation of 200,000 doses is captured in project #95809. A final December donation of 1 million doses is captured in project #95810.
