Description

On August 24, 2021, the Chinese Government pledged a donation of two million vaccine doses to Vietnam. Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh extended thanks for the donation at his reception for Chinese Ambassador Xiong Bo. The monetary value and status of this donation is unknown. This donation was pledged in response to US Vice President Kamala Harris's visit to Southeast Asia and the condemnation of China's actions in the South China Sea.
