Project narrative

In November 2019, the Government of Serbia and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) for the development of an artificial intelligence (AI) platform. China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA) agreed to provide a $13 million (11.7 million euro) grant to support the implementation of the project, which includes the provision of cloud infrastructure to the Kragujevac State Data Center (with a capacity of approximately 1,200 rack rooms distributed in two facilities with a total footprint of 14,000 square meters). The AI platform is expected to enable the development of state-of-the-art e-government services. The construction of the Kragujevac State Data Center was completed in December 2020.
