Description
On November 12, 2021, 1 million Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines donated by the Chinese government arrived at Yangon International Airport. The vaccines were to be distributed across Myanmar in order to aid in vaccination efforts against COVID-19. A virtual donation ceremony was held and attended by the Minister of Myanmar's Ministry of Health, the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar, and other officials. This is the first of three batches of donations in November 2021, totaling 3 million vaccines. In 2021 and 2022, the Chinese Government donated approximately 23.7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines to the Government of Myanmar.
