Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

In late April 2020, the Chinese Consulate-General in Edinburgh donated 30,000 face masks to Angus Council in Scotland. Angus Council gave the donation to Voluntary Action Angus while planning distribution. The masks are from Shandong, an area where Angus has a sister area agreement with the government of Yantai.

Staff comments

1. The City of Yantai or the Shandong Provincial Government may have contributed to this donation; however, AidData has not found explicit evidence of either of them doing so; the masks may have merely been manufactured in Shandong.
