Project narrative

On July 22, 2021 the Chinese embassy in Papua New Guinea and Butuka Academy held a handover ceremony for school supplies donated by Shenzhen, China. The Governor of Papua New Guinea Capital Administrative Region, the chairman of the board of directors of Butuka Academy, the principal, and nearly 300 teachers and students attended the donation ceremony. The supplies included 3,200 school bags and 100 soccer balls valued at PNG 209,000. Shenzhen funded the construction of Butuka Academy in 2017 (see Record ID#61562).
