Project narrative

On April 3, 2020, the Chinese city of Guiyang donated medical supplies consisting of protective masks, disposable gloves, and goggles to Palmerston North, New Zealand, a sister city of Guiyang. The distribution of the masks was managed by the Palmerston North Emergency Operations Centre (EOC). The masks were used where there was an identified need for frontline workers or people in the city requiring protection. This donation reciprocated the assistance that Palmerston North gave during Guiyang's efforts to prevent and control the COVID-19 outbreak at the beginning of this year.
