Project narrative

On June 7, 2021, three Chinese medical teams in Burundi donated almost 15 tons of medicine and medical equipment to be distributed to residents and hospitals of Bujumbura, Burundi. The three teams were Bujumbura Medical Point, Mubanda Medical Point, and Gitega Medical Point. The materials included clinical drugs, protective masks, and surgical medical devices. The supplies were then distributed within a week of their delivery on June 7, 2021. The purpose of this donation is to support Burundi’s COVID-19 response efforts. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. The captains of the three medical teams and directors of the recipient hospitals attended the ceremony.
