Project narrative

On June 2, 2021, the Chinese government donated the fourth batch of anti-epidemic materials and medical equipment to Malawi. The donation was performed during a handover ceremony at the Malaysian Ministry of Health. The USD value of the donation is unknown. The donation is part of the China-Africa Counterpart Hospital Cooperation Mechanism. Liu Hongyang, the Chinese ambassador to Malawi, and Kumbize Chiponda, the Minister of Health of Malawi, attended the ceremony. Li Xiaogang, the captain of the Chinese medical team to Malawi, and Mwasabbo, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Health of Malawi, also attended the ceremony.
