Project narrative

On March 11, 2021, the Chinese Government offered a donation of medical equipment to Mozambique to help treat mothers and their newborns and will be used to help Mozambicans who were displaced by Cyclone Idai two years prior. The equipment was worth $1.7 million USD and is able to assist around 436,000 girls and women through 32 health units. This donation will be used to assist people in the Sofala and Manica Provinces which were affected by the cyclone. This donation is under the South-South Cooperation Program, which is an agreement between China and the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
