Project narrative

On May 2, 2021, the Chinese government provided 1.5 million Sinovac COVID-19 vaccines worth $27 million to the Chilean Ministry of Health. This was the ninth batch of Sinovac vaccines sent from China to Chile. The purpose of this donation was to support Chile’s COVID-19 response efforts. Chilean Health Minister, Enrique Paris, the Chinese Ambassador to Chile, Niu Qingbao, and the International Economic Affairs Undersecretary, Rodrigo Yáñez, attended the handover ceremony.
