In mid-February 2021, the Chinese Government announced its intention to grant 20,000 COVID-19 vaccines to the Dominican government as part of its donation of 10 million COVID-19 vaccines to the global COVID-19 Vaccine Global Access (COVAX) initiative. According to Dominica News Online, an official handover ceremony for the vaccines was held on March 4, 2021. The monetary value of the donation is unknown.
