Narrative

Full Description

Project narrative

On September 14, 2021, the Chinese Embassy, along with the Kenya-China Economic and Trade Association (KCETA), donated food supplies to the MCEDO Beijing School in Kenya. The supplies included maize, beans, porridge, salt and sugar. The monetary value of this donation is USD $7,000. The donation provided free meals and supported students during school closures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Benedict Kaige, the director of MCEDO Beijing School, accepted the delivery of the food supplies and thanked the Chinese Embassy for their generosity.

Staff comments

1. The Chinese Embassy's contribution is estimated at $3,500. The total donation was reported as at least $7,000, of which half is estimated to be from KCETA and half from the Chinese Embassy in Kenya, according to AidData's equal contribution assumption.
