Project narrative

On April 5, 2021, the Chinese Government donated its 13th shipment of anti-epidemic aid to Venezuela. The shipment included 17 tons of medical supplies and equipment. The supplies included ventilators for ICUs, oxygen machines, KN95 masks, scrubs and traditional Chinese medicines. The purpose of this donation is to support Venezuela’s COVID-19 response efforts and increase the capacity of the intensive care units. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A welcome ceremony was held for this donation at the Simón Bolívar International Airport. Health Minister Carlos Alvarado and Vice-Minister for Air Transport and President of Conviasa, Ramón Velázquez Araguayá, attended the ceremony.
