Project narrative

On August 28, 2021, the Chinese Government provided 22 tons of COVID-19 supplies to the Cuban government. The supplies included 280,000 items such as antigen testing kits, surgical gloves, protective suits, masks, medical goggles, and other items necessary for the daily work of medical personnel involved in patient care. The purpose of this donation is to support Cuba’s COVID-19 response efforts. The monetary value of this donation is unknown. A handover ceremony was held for this donation. China’s Ambassador to Cuba, Ma Hui, and the Cuban Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. This is the third batch of COVID-19 supplies provided by the Chinese government in 2021.
