Description

On January 7, 2021, the Government of China donated oxygen ventilators and other medical equipment to Zambia, in order to aid Zambia in COVID-19 prevention efforts. The supplies will be distributed to four main hospitals in Zambia. During the donation handover, the Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Li Jie stated that the government of China will send a medical team of 28 Chinese professionals to aid in Zambia's medical response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 20 of these professionals will be sent to Zambia's main hospital in Lusaka, 4 will be sent to Livingstone Hospital, and 4 will be sent to Ndola Hospital. The monetary value of this donation is unknown.
