Project narrative

On April 29, 2021, the Chinese Government donated security equipment to the Malawi police force. The equipment included 300 tents, bullet proof vests, handcuffs, gas masks, shields, helmets, shock baton sticks and binoculars. The donation has a monetary value of MK200 million ($250,000 USD). A handover ceremony was held for this donation in Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi. Malawi’s Minister of Homeland Security, Richard Chimwendo Banda, and China’s Ambassador to Malawi, Liu Hongyang, attended the ceremony.
